His Lordship Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela is leading a delegation from the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Commission for Pastoral and Lay Apostolate in Rome, Italy on families. The World Meeting on Families, with the theme “Family-a path to holiness,” began on June 22, 2022, and will conclude on June 26, 2022, with a concluding Mass celebrated at St. Peter’s Basilica by His Holiness Pope Francis.
The meeting has brought delegates from all over the world. The speakers are giving talks aimed at strengthening family as a unit, promoting sanctity and spirituality of the family, faith formation of children, marriage catechesis as well as formation of couples and teenagers towards the vocation of marriage.
Among those present with Bishop Mwongela are: Rt. Rev. Michael Ondhiwa, the Bishop of Homa-Bay and Vice chairman of Commission for Lay Apostolate, Rev. Fr. Josiah Muthee the Director of the commission, secretariat representative and lay representatives from the four metropolitans.
