CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF KITUI CELEBRATES PRIESTLY AND DIACONATE ORDINATION
The Catholic Diocese of Kitui has joyfully celebrated the ordination of 4 new priests and 13 deacons today, marking a historic moment as it is the first time the diocese has ordained such a large number at once. The colourful ceremony, presided over by Bishop Joseph Mwongela, drew thousands of faithful from across the diocese.
NEW PRIESTS NEW APPOINTMENTS
His Lordship Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela has assigned the newly ordained to work in different parishes as follows PRIESTS 1. Rev. Fr. Julius Munyoki Ngali – Holy Family Parish, Mutomo 2. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mwanzia – St. Patrick’s Parish, Mutune 3. Rev. Fr. Stephen Kivite – St. Joseph’s Seminary; Chaplain, Mwingi Boys and St. Gabriel
84 CATECHISTS COMPLETE PHASE II TRAINING AT MUTUNE PARISH
A total of 84 catechists have completed their two-week Phase II training at St. Patrick’s Parish, Mutune. The training began on 23rd November 2025 and has concluded this evening, 5th December 2025. This group began their formation with Phase I in August 2025, and the current session has further deepened their understanding of key areas
KITUI DIOCESE TO OPEN ITS 37TH PARISH: ST. THERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS PARISH, IIANI
His Lordship Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela has announced the establishment of a new parish in Iiani, to be officially opened on 6th January 2026. The official communication has been made through a memorandum released from the Bishop’s Office addressed to the Priests, Religious Men and Women and the Christians of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.
