Bishop Mwongela announces Priests Transfers

Through a memorandum dated 13th March 2023 addressed to all priests, religious men/women, and the faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela has announced the following priests’ transfers/appointments effective 20th April 2023.

1. Rev. Fr. Richard Nguta moves from St. Patrick’s Kyuso Parish to the ‘Queen of the Apostles Mbondoni Parish as Parish Priest.

2. Rev. Fr. Justus Kilonzi moves from Queen of the Apostles Mbondoni Parish to St. Joseph’s Mutito Parish as Parish Priest.

3. Rev. Fr. Nicodemus Muithi moves from St. Joseph’s Mutito Parish

and goes to Peoria, USA as Fidei Donum.

4. Rev. Fr. Charles Kitheka moves from Holy Family Kabati Parish to St. Patrick’s Kyuso Parish as Parish Priest and Dean of Northern Deanery.

5. Rev. Fr. Julius Muthamba moves from the Education Office to Holy Family Kabati Parish as Parish Priest.

6. Rev. Fr. Anthony Muema moves from the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Kanyangi Parish to the Education office as the Education Secretary.

7. Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Mutuku moves from Queen of Apostles Mbondoni Parish to Christ the King Katutu Parish as Assistant Parish Priest.

8. Rev. Fr. Richard Kyenze moves from St. Augustine’s Nguutani Parish to Sacred Heart of Jesus Kanyangi Parish as Assistant Parish Priest.

9. Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Munyoki moves from St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary to Holy Family Mutomo Parish as Parish Priest.

10. Rev. Fr. Jonathan Malusi moves from Holy Family Mutomo Parish and goes to Ireland for a Sabbatical.

As the Diocese looks forward to the opening of Blessed Sacrament Kweluu Parish on 14th April 2023, Bishop Mwongela has further appointed Rev. Fr. John Munyoki as the Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. John Murage as the Assistant Parish Priest.
