The Regional Director of Brooke East Africa, Dr. Raphael Kinoti, has paid a courtesy visit to Bishop Joseph Mwongela and the Catholic Diocese of Kitui Secretariat staff.
The Catholic Diocese of Kitui, through its Caritas Department, has been in partnership with Brooke East Africa for the past nine years. This collaboration focuses on improving welfare of working donkeys, which play a critical role in transforming lives and livelihoods of communities in Kitui County.
Dr. Kinoti has commended the Diocese’s work through the Caritas Department, describing it as commendable and impactful. He has emphasized the strong partnership between Brooke East Africa and the Diocese and highlighted the positive contributions of donkeys in enhancing livelihoods within the community.
Bishop Mwongela has expressed gratitude to Brooke East Africa for their longstanding partnership. He acknowledged their significant role in capacity-building efforts for staff, priests, and the community, which have yielded substantial benefits. The Bishop also urged the staff to uphold integrity and ethical practices in handling partner resources and other diocesan resources while embracing joy in their work.
The visit concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the fruitful partnership between Brooke East Africa and the Catholic Diocese of Kitui. This was followed by a brief meeting involving the Mtunze Daima Project staff and the Caritas Director, Ms. Florence Ndeti.
