THANK YOU FOR HELPING RAISE KSH. 5 MILLION TO SUPPORT STREET CHILDREN AND SEMINARIANS’ EDUCATION

Thank you all for your generous contribution during this year’s Annual Diocesan Fundraising Dinner, held at Kitui Pastoral Centre on 4th July 2025, under the theme “Education Sponsorship for Street Children and Support for Seminarians.” Through your kindness and support, Ksh. 5 million was raised.

In his opening remarks, Bishop Joseph Mwongela reflected on being chosen during the challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic, acknowledging that his mission has been made easier thanks to the unwavering support of Christians and people of goodwill. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone in attendance, including the governor and other leaders, for standing in solidarity with the cause. Bishop Mwongela also highlighted the remarkable progress in evangelization across the Diocese and reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to reaching every corner of the community. Emphasizing integrity and accountability, he urged the County government to serve all people equally and diligently.

The funds raised will go towards providing education sponsorship for street children at St. John Eudes Rehabilitation Centre, which is run by the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, and supporting the Diocese’s seminarians who are at various stages of priestly formation. Currently, the Diocese has 80 seminarians, with 15 set to be ordained as deacons in December. Additionally, ten new aspirants will join the seminary in August to begin their journey towards priesthood.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and continued support in shaping a brighter future for both the street children and future priests of our Diocese.
