Thousands of faithful gathered at Museve Shrine today for the annual Diocesan pilgrimage, celebrated by the Most Rev. Anthony Muheria, under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”
The pilgrims participated in the way of the Cross, adoration, sacrament of reconciliation and Holy Mass.
In his homily, Archbishop Muheria urged the Christians to release stubbornness of heart and embrace forgiveness, encouraging all to return home with clean and renewed spirits.
He warned them against the effects of hypocrisy, describing it as “what is eating families, the Church, and the country.” He stressed, “We must remove it because it leads us away from God’s expectations.” The Archbishop also called the faithful to pray fervently for the nation and its leaders, emphasizing that hardened hearts cannot guide the country forward.
Inviting pilgrims to emulate the Blessed Virgin Mary, Archbishop Muheria encouraged them to “shine” like Mary, making Museve Shrine a true place of sanctification and Christian witness.
He requested the young people to remain hopeful and make righteous choices, reminding them that genuine hope springs from faith and trust in God.
Mr. Maurice Kilonzo, the Parish Moderator, encouraged the faithful to continue supporting Museve Shrine so that it remains a vibrant centre of prayer and hope for generations to come.
The pilgrimage culminated with contributions in support for the shrine.
