The Exercise was led by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela where more than 4000 trees were planted by the Youth of Museve parish and other faithful. The parish is intending to plant more than 16000 trees at the site. The trees were donated by Equity Bank (15,000) and We the trees CBO (1000). On 8th December the Church celebrates the feast of Immaculate conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela appreciated the good will of Equity bank and challenged all to plant more trees even at their homes. He also emphasized on the importance of self reliance and vocations in the Diocese.
Bishop Dr. Charles Kariuki who is the General manager, Religious Sector, Equity Bank, urged all to ensure that they plant trees and dedicate themselves in taking good care of them so that in future they may enjoy the benefits.
The exercise was also graced by Very Rev. Fr. John Mwandi (Vicar General), Fr. Edward Mulwa (Father-in-charge, Museve parish), Fr. John Kivosyo (Bishop’s Executive Secretary), Fr. Paul Mutemi (Youth Chaplain), Mr. Francis Mbindyo (Equity Bank Manager, Kitui Branch), Acolyte Peter Kitute (Diocesan Youth Coordinator) among others.
