St. Mathias Mulumba Catholic Parish was started in 2001. It has 12 outstations, 1196 Christians and 12 catechists. Rev. Fr. Patrick Mwavu is the Father in charge assisted by Deacon Duncan Mwanzia.
Three mass celebrations are held every Sunday and adoration every Thursday of the week. Small Christian communities are very active. The projects we have are:- goat keeping and poultry as well as the nursery school which is not doing well currently.
The Catholic sponsored schools are two in number.
The challenges are lack of sufficient faith, long distances between the outstations (the furthest station is 32 kms away from the main centre), impassable roads, water scarcity due to drought and famine most of the time and lastly but not least is low level of education.
