Our Lady of Protection Museve Shrine will be completed in six months and later be opened by His Eminence Cardinal John Njue. This was revealed by Most Rev. Anthony Muheria, Archbishop of Nyeri Archdiocese and also the apostolic administrator to the Catholic Diocese of Kitui and Machakos Diocese during the fundraising for the completion of the project on 19th May 2018 at the shrine grounds.
The Archbishop said that upon completion, Museve shrine will be a great milestone for the Catholic Diocese of Kitui and intends to host faithful across the globe for pilgrimages and prayers.
“We should be proud of Our Lady of Protection Museve Shrine, Our Mother Mary is doing all she can to help us build a place for her, and we believe we will achieve everything through the prayers that we offer unto her,” Said the Archbishop.
The well attended event, managed to helped the Diocese to raise Kshs 33 million which will go towards ensuring the project is completed in due time as scheduled.
One of the invited guests, former Nairobi Deputy Governor and now the new Equity Bank CEO Polycarp Igathe, called on the Catholic faithful across the globe and more so in Kenya to visit the Shrine, which he said is located in one of the nicest landscapes in the country.
The fundraiser was attended by clergy, religious, lay faithful comprised of government dignitaries among others.
