The event kicked off with a Holy Eucharistic celebration led by the Rev. Fr. Celestino Bundi, PMS National director. A number of priests also accompanied the PMC from different suffragan dioceses, Kitui, Machakos, Nairobi, Ngong, Nakuru and Kericho.
The main celebrant emphasized on the unity of Kenya which was clearly seen from the innocence of kids present. The search for peaceful and unified nation is of prime importance at this moment in our country.
The individual dioceses were well represented and the different performances were undertaken. The giftedness of these young kids were much demonstrated. Though the event wasn’t geared towards competition, the best from the dioceses were represented. The items of presentations were choral verses, drama, poems as well as traditional dances. The event was culminated with Christmas carols, breaking dance, final prayer and blessing from Fr. Celestino Bundi.
Catholic diocese of Kitui, was represented by Museve parish PMC from St. Mary’s Kwa Ukungu station who did their rib breaking presentation. Acolyte Antony Muema who had accompanied them, narrated the event as most beneficial to the growth of faith especially to the young ones. “It is indeed so joyful and fulfilling working with these young ones. They are gifted young angels.” Antony commented.
The Catholic Diocese of Kitui is setting a hallmark in music, drama and gymnastics areas at a national platform. Previously, during the National CLIMAK festivals, the diocese of Kitui performed very well in different classes with Boma parish being ranked position two and Kabati parish position three in the Gold Class. These are sure signs that the diocese is making great heights in the field of evangelization.
