Catholic Diocese of Kitui celebrated notable growth in faith on 13/1/2019 through the opening of Christ the King parish Katutu. Christ the King parish is now the 28th Parish in the diocese of Kitui and it’s curved from Kabati, Mulutu and Muthale parishes.
In his homily, his Grace Anthony Muheria, Archbishop Archdiocese of Nyeri and Apostolic Administrator Kitui diocese, urged all the people to fully dedicate themselves to the work of the Lord, support the parish as well as use the house of God purposely to reach out to other people who do not know God as to know Him better.
During the opening of the parish, Archbishop Muheria blessed the priests’ house and appreciated the good work done by the faithful and the clergy in ensuring that they put up the mission house.
Fr. David Mwendwa formerly father in charge, Nuu parish was appointed as the Father in charge while Fr. Paul Ng’oku formerly father in charge, Kimangao will be the curate.
The event was attended by clergy & religious, Laity, government & political leaders.
