Jubilation filled the august compound of the ever celebrated Kitui High School as the Diocese was the host of this year’s National Music Festivals. On the eve of 9th Dec 2017, Kitui County was filled by thousands of youth from across the country.
The Catholic Diocese of Kitui was set to host this year’s festivals in style. They were overly motivated by the Motto “Faith on Fire”. The diocese gave a warm welcome to all participants, including the officials from the Nairobi Metropolitan as well as from the National office.
The youth did not tire to demonstrate their talent in their different items which included; Play, Traditional Dance, Dramatized Choral Verse, Solo Verses, Set Piece and Own Compositions. All the presentations captured a great gift, zeal and potentiality running through some themes contextualized for the present society. Themes which cut across items of presentations were; Peace, Unity, appreciating African cultures among others.
The Diocese was represented by teams from Our Lady of Africa (Boma Parish), Holy Family Kabati parish and St. PatrickS Mutune Parish. The team performed quite amazingly and made the Diocese proud.
Launching the event, Fr. Josiah Muthee, the National Executive Secretary to the Commission for Pastoral and Lay Apostolate, he seemed too confident that Youth have embraced gospel Message with zeal. The next year’s National Youth Festivals will be held at Malindi Diocese.
